To find the right motorcycle or powersport battery, start by identifying the correct battery group size for your machine. Once you know the group size, it’s much easier to compare compatible options.
Here are three ways to determine the right battery:
Option 1 – Most Accurate: Visit our Battery Finder page. Select your voltage and check 'Powersport' under Terminals. Next enter your battery’s dimensions and terminal polarity. This method provides the most reliable way to find an exact-fit replacement and will also show you which group sizes match these specifications.
Option 2 – Fastest if Existing Battery is available: If you're replacing a common brand and model, simply enter the model number of your current battery into the search bar at the top of our website. If we carry it or have a cross-reference, you'll find compatible options for that group size immediately.
Option 3 – Easy, but Less Reliable: You can use an online application guide to look up batteries by make and model. However, these guides are often outdated or inaccurate. If you go this route, be sure to verify the battery's physical dimensions, terminal layout, and power specifications before making a purchase.
Note: No matter which method you choose, always confirm the battery’s: Length, width, and height Terminal configuration Voltage and cold cranking amps (CCA) to ensure it meets your motorcycle’s requirements.
